Exploring temples...

Polonnaruwa is the second most ancient's kingdom in Sri Lanka. Whilst we were wandering the temple ruins we couldn't helped to be reminded of Angkor Wat in Cambodia. There are less monuments to be seen but our trip there wasn't less enriching. We saw the remains of an old monk's school and an impressive statue of Buddha . Remember though, never take a picture whilst you are back to him as this isn't allowed in the Buddhist culture and can be seen as disrespectful. Also, remember to bring an extra sari or sarong to cover your shoulders and legs. You won't be allowed in otherwise.
