Best cafes in Cape Town
The coffee shop culture in Cape Town is well established. Get your expectations high on caffeine and delicious breakfast treats.
Truth Coffee Roasting
This quirky coffee shop was named the best in the world by the Daily Telegraph. Set in an old retro warehouse, the overall setting is very unique, except kitsch copper installations dropping off the ceilings, leather seatings and black metal tables. It’s almost impossible to describe, you really have to check it out for yourself. I would recommend trying the orange juice & coffee drink. Served in a martini glass, it’s the perfect blend between an espresso martini and a mimosa. Foodwise, the avocado on toast is a solid choice and the pastries are delicious too.
Location: 36 Buitenkant St · Near the District Six Museum
More than a coffee shop, this is a no-waste shop and lunch spot. I loved their fresh boxes, smoothies and juices. They also have a great little outdoor spot where you can chill whilst eating on some homemade veggie delicacies.

If you are a bread and bakery good lover this place will become your favourite spot.! Be sure to get there early if you want to try one of their hot cross cinnamon buns otherwise opt for one of their homemade bagels which are just as delicious!
Location: 83 Main Rd, Green Point, Cape Town, 8005
This place serves the best porridge in town. Their smoothie bowls are also a piece of art, except rainbow swirls blended into one bowl of deliciousness. The best thing about this cafe is the outdoor garden, they even have hammocks you can chill on.
Location: 78 Regent Rd, Sea Point, Cape Town, 8001
This cafe nested on a rooftop in Seapoint has a lot to offer. I’ll admit it, the food is just okay but it’s got the best views in town, a pool and a cowork space. If you wish to work from there you’ll have to pay 100 rand which also includes a complimentary drink.
Location: 2 Kings Rd, Sea Point, Cape Town, 8060
Jarryds Espresso Bar
Cafe by day, trendy bar by night. This cafe has a very cool outdoor / indoor interior filled with lots of plants and comfy seating. The food here is delicious too and the service is impeccable. The Halloumi breakfast will fill you up until dinner!
Location: 90 Regent Rd, Sea Point, Cape Town, 8005
Damn the chains but this one is god damn good so definitely worth the detour. On the menu, try their truffle eggs with one of their home made juices. They have locations across the city and their menu is affordable too.
