HOW TO SURVIVE RAINBOW
This five days long festival in the Australian bush is an experience you don't want to miss, especially if you're into fancy dressing, heavy partying and up to your eyeballs tripping! There's plenty of tents, djs, parties, yoga sessions and food stalls.
Here are a few tips to survive, get around and have a good time in rainbow serpent:
Because they haven't got a licence for it yet, the festival is completely alcohol free. Glass isn't allowed either so make sure that everything you bring is in a tin or plastic bottle. Bring some water too but they have lots of free H20 fountains there to so no need to go crazy there!
Rain isn't uncommon in the australian bush, bring a tarp to keep your tent & belongings dry.
Bring food, especially if you want to save pennies there. To be honest I didn't think the stalls there were too pricy and it's always nice to enjoy a warm meal! You can also bring a gas cooker with you, if you feel like cooking. Otherwise I'd recommend getting lots of fruits, to stay hydrated as well!
It will get really hot in the day but chilly in the evenings so make sure to bring some extra layers to keep yourself warm during night times. Equally don't forget to take light clothes to sweat in during the day. Close shoes recommended, it's pretty dusty out there.
No worries, this isn't Burning man so the festival does have showers. Nevertheless if you want to keep that dust off your clothes the best remedy is and always will be VINEGAR! So pack some up with some dry shampoo if you want to keep that hair clean without washing it! Some people do believe that 'washing is cheating' so it's up to you too!
Bring lots of props, costumes, accesories and good vibes with you. Be open to anything and have a wonderful time. The atmosphere is very relaxed and everyone is super welcoming so if you lose your friends mid-way through the night, make new amigos!
