Siquijor

This was my favourite island. They call it the Mystic Island, and honestly… there is something about it. It has a way of pulling you in.

  • Do...

    Diving
Siquijor is a great dive spot. As I can’t dive myself, I can only say this as this was recommended by other people.

Rent a scooterRide around the island and explore at your own pace. We visited some ancient churches in Lazi, which was a great way to see a real slice of Philippine life.

    Cantabon Cave
Pretend to be Indiana Jones and explore underground caves. Expect stalagmites and pool water. Flashlights and helmets are mandatory.

    Lugnason Falls
The Philippines is the country of beautiful waterfalls, so treat yourself to this one. Enjoy the dip and, if you’re brave enough, jump into the crystal-clear blue natural pools.

    Old Enchanted Balete Tree
An ancient tree surrounded by a pool full of flesh-eating fish. Sounds interesting? It is. Not a full-day activity, but worth a stop to get all that dead skin devoured by some angry little fishies.

    Pitogo Cliff Nature Park
Absolutely stunning views. I’d recommend coming towards the end of the day so you can catch the sunset. Bring a tipple of your choice and just enjoy the view and the sumptuous nature.

  • Eat and drink...

    Wakanda
A sweet spot if you’re looking for a fairly fancy dinner with entertainment. Each night has a different theme. from paella to tapas to arts nights, live DJs and bands. You won’t be disappointed by the food or the entertainment.

    Dolce Amore Italian
Yes, you’re in the Philippines and should eat local, but let’s be honest, sometimes you just want a good pizza and fresh pasta. If that’s your craving, this five-star spot won’t disappoint.

    SHAKA (health food)
Healthy food, bean bags and sea views are all on the menu. What’s not to like?

    Chelle’s Rock Bistrot
If you fancy going out out, this is the place. Great for meeting local… backpackers. The crowd is young and thirsty, the music is loud, and the vibe is fun. A must-go if you’re up for an all-nighter.
