Bohol

This charming island is best known for its sumptuous Chocolate Hills, but it also has some great beaches.

  • Do...

Chocolate Hills Tours are a must-do. I did a classic tourist day trip where they drop you there, take you on a boat ride with singers, and include an entry to the Tarsier Sanctuary If you’re limited in time it’s a great way to see everything in one day.

If you’re a solo traveler, it’s also a good way to meet people.

I booked the tour directly with my accommodation.

    Loboc River
Yes, it’s part of the classic tour, but the jungle scenery is genuinely beautiful.

    Philippine Tarsier Sanctuary
Tiny, wide-eyed tarsiers. Go early and keep expectations realistic.

Head over to Panglao for beach time, slower days, clearer water, and a nice break from sightseeing.

    Red Picnic Hostel

A social, slightly party-leaning hostel with a pool at its heart and an easy way to meet people fast. Think colourful spaces, shared dinners, and pre-drinks before heading out, ideal if you’re travelling solo and want a fun, friendly base near the beaches of Panglao.
