I didn’t expect much from this small town but was happily surprised. You can get lost visiting grandiose Mayan ruins, wander amongst butterflies at a Mariposario or have a leisure day at the hot springs.

How to occupy your time in diver’s paradise, impossible some might say but actually Utila has so much more to offer. Since I can’t dive at all because of an ear problem I found lots of alternatives activities to do whilst on the island. This kept me busy for 10 days straight!
